Bristol Sport Foundation to Provide FamilyFit Sessions over Lockdown

Like everyone, the staff of Bristol Sport Foundation (BSF) are getting ready for another month in lockdown, whilst trying to figure out how they can best support children and families during this period.

So, when Lara Short proposed to launch a series of digital content to provide exercise and other important activities for families over the lockdown period, we said YES.

Therefore, we are delighted to announce that alongside BSF’s existing roster of activities, which include the Children’s Kitchen video recipe series and weekly active free play games from BSF and Bristol Bears Community Foundation, a new programme has been designed called FamilyFit.

Being released on the BSF app and social media channels every Sunday throughout lockdown, FamilyFit is designed to give children and their families a challenging and fun themed workout to start their Sunday off in the right way!

Lara, our Senior Coach & Club Co-ordinator, offered her take on the initiative; “With families living in lockdown, we completely appreciate keeping children entertained and active can pose quite a challenge for lots of parents.

“With our new FamilyFit series, we intend to bring you a positive and fun exercise experience, suitable for all family members to get involved with. Families who exercise together experience combined benefits of bonding together, establishing lifelong habits and encouraging each other to be active.

“Start small and join in with our weekly FamilyFit activities, it is all about you getting involved and giving it a go, you can take part in a small space and is completely free! First up is the Cha Cha Slide workout brought to you by our Community Gymnastics Coach, Jasmine Mansyah on Sunday, 8th November at 10am. See you there!”

To join in with all the sessions running throughout lockdown please download the BSF app, for free, or like and follow us on social media. If you would like to see what else BSF have been up to on the app over the last few months then check out our highlights video.
