Seven teams enjoyed an evening to remember as part of the Bristol Sport Foundation’s annual Corporate Football Tournament at Ashton Gate Stadium.
Staff from Hargreaves Lansdown, PricewaterhouseCoopers, RunFibre, Nando’s, Ashton Gate and the Foundation battled it out for glory at the home of Bristol City and Bristol Bears.
The round-robin format was fiercely contested before PricewaterhouseCoopers emerged triumphant with a dramatic late winner to beat Ashton Gate 1-0 in the final.
Following the conclusion of the action on the pitch, all the teams enjoyed food and drinks together in the Independence Sport Bar to round off a fantastic evening in BS3.
All proceeds from the event will provide much needed funds to help disadvantaged young people in Greater Bristol access and enjoy our community basketball activities.
Ben Breeze, Bristol Sport Foundation Chief Community Officer, said: “Thank you to all the teams for entering the tournament. Every penny that we have raised from your donations goes straight towards funding our bursary scheme, Project Takeoff.
“Project Takeoff supports the most disadvantaged young people in Greater Bristol so they can come and enjoy our hubs and clubs, removing barriers to participation.
“We provide them with kit if they need it and if they can’t afford to come, we pay for them to come, so all your money goes directly towards this amazing programme.
“Congratulations to PricewaterhouseCoopers on coming out on top in the final against Ashton Gate and well played to the rest of the teams who took part. We couldn’t do what we do without your support, and we can’t wait to see you at our next corporate event.”
The Foundation’s next corporate fundraising event will be Break The Cycle on July 16, with cyclists able to take on three routes (42, 66 and 100 miles) from Ashton Gate.
